Since then, Roger P Byrom has been serving Braunton and surrounding areas with thoughtful and highly personal funeral arrangements. Roger had previously worked at L Clarke and Sons when it was owned by the Co-op and was happy to restore it to an independent, family-run, community focused business.
Roger and his compassionate team of funeral professionals are happy to help with any type of funeral and will be sure to help your loved one in observing any religious and local customs in accordance with any legal requirements. They are able to arrange for a religious or non-religious funeral service or celebration of life followed by a traditional burial, a natural burial or a cremation.
You can choose from a wide variety of coffins, caskets and urns including traditional hardwoods and veneers, through to ecologically conscious materials, including wicker, wool and bamboo. There is a whole range of transport options offered by RPB Funerals including, but not limited to, a Morris Minor hearse, a Land Rover hearse, and a Trike hearse as well as a traditional horse-drawn hearse.
The RPB Funerals' Braunton funeral home is well-equipped with a chapel of rest, private meeting room, welcoming office and public parking directly in front of the office. It's open from 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday with 24/7 phone support available.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do you arrange a funeral?
You can arrange a funeral by choosing a funeral director who will help you organise all of the details. They can help you decide whether to have a cremation or burial and what type of service to choose, as well as additional options, such as music and flowers. You can find out what happens at a funeral and compare funeral directors on Funeral Guide.
Read moreWhat are disbursements?
Disbursements are additional costs for a funeral service that are paid to third-parties, such as florists, celebrants and burial fees. The funeral director will usually charge you for them and then pay the suppliers themselves.
Read moreHow can I get help with funeral costs?
If the cost of a funeral is not covered by a prepaid funeral plan, or the estate of the person who has died, you may be able to get financial help from the government’s Bereavement Support Payment or from War Disablement Pensions, charitable funds or budgeting loans.
