James & Emma have been excellent throughout. From the first phone call to the service itself James & Emma provide a calm, reassuring presence. They ensure that all your needs are met throughout a difficult time. I would highly recommend their services. I would also like too mention how peaceful / tranquil there funeral home & chapel of rest is.

There is nobody else I would call to deal with a funeral & anyone I would trust more so than James & Emma. It was important to me that my sister was respected & treated with dignity. Nothing was too much trouble & there were no unexpected charges.  Attention to detail with J.T.Howe is amazing from the way they answer the phone to way they dress on the day of the funeral. 
They are not just a business they are a “family business “ after the dealings I have had with them I feel like they are now part of my family.  I have also taken out a funeral plan with them so when my time comes I can rest assured I am in safe and trusted hands on my final journey.

The service we received from James & Emma was second to none. They treated my brother with the upmost dignity & respect. They were kind patient ,understanding I couldn’t have asked for anymore from them. They were on hand & looked after us throughout the whole process which made things more bearable. A first class service from a wonderful family business. I would also like to say how peaceful your chapel of rest is at your funeral home in Chapel - En - Le - Frith.

At the hardest most emotional event in my life when my father died I contacted JTHowe funeral directors to arrange the funeral plans.I was so impressed with the support and guidance they gave me.Everything was covered and when I couldn't make decisions because of my grieving they guided me through .I have always remembered these wonderful kind people .Thankyou so much

My wonderful mother passed away on 7th December 2020, we asked James Howe to arrange her funeral for us. I’m glad we did too, both James and Emma arranged every detail and made our loss less stressful. They gave my mum a dignified and beautiful send off. James explained everything to us, but also encouraged us to make our own decisions regarding my mums funeral. The funeral took place on the 18/12/20, during restrictions and James was always available day and night with any worries we had. I have no hesitation is recommending JT Howe funeral directors. James, Emma and their team were so patient, calm and kind. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We wanted to use James and Emma as they are a family run business and we felt immediately at home with them. We knew that dad would be safe in their care. They live in and serve their local community which means that they understand how things operate in the High Peak area. They also took the time to keep in touch after the funeral as they knew that this would be a difficult time for my mum. Kind, caring and very professional.

From our initial call to inform them of my mother in laws death, James & Emma were provided a fantastic service.The are very professional and patient. They know their job inside out and did everything possible to make sure we were informed and understood everything that was going to happen at every step. When my mum passed away, it was a very difficult time and not something I have had to deal with before.

James was kind and considerate, understanding and supportive. He knew what to say at what time and how to say it.  He reassured me from the moment he was involved that mum would be in good hands.   On the day he picked her up from hospital he kept me informed that she was safe with him, and let me know when she had arrived at the funeral directors.  

He provided guidance through the process and suggestions for the service where appropriate.  Even the small things like nail varnish were discussed.   Something I wouldn’t have considered. 

Under such difficult circumstances, James was an absolute rock.   I was reassured that mum was in safe and respectful hands.

James dealt with all of the parties involved, from the hospital, cars, flowers, crematorium and even the stone mason for the head stone.  Taking all of the stress out of an emotional time. 

There was no pressure at any time, and I always felt at ease.

James is genuine, caring and professional.  

Thank you for everything you did for me and my family.   Mum would have loved it!! x

I can not praise James & his team enough. My husband passed away home suddenly & it was the worst night of my life. I was advised to call James after seeking comfort from my neighbour who had recently been to a funeral conducted by James. After making the call to James he was with us within around 30 minutes. Before taking Clive to hospital James explained everything that was going to happen to make sure I understood everything. I was so happy with everything that James did for me I have now taken a funeral plan out with him for myself.

Very professional, nothing too big or two small to do when asked. Very accommodating when we changed parts of the funeral, very considerate and sympathetic to all our needs. Even sorted the wake for us. Would recommend to anyone, I literally have no negatives about this company, cannot Thank them enough for what they did for me.

When looking for a funeral director for my mum I spent a lot of time searching the internet looking at funeral directors websites & reviews. When I came across James & Emma's website I new rite away that this was who I wanted to care for my mum. I first made contact through there website & I received a call back within a few minutes. With me being disabled James offered to come to my home in Stockport to arrange the funeral for my mum which I found really helpful. I would also like to thank James for going the extra mile & giving me a lift to his funeral home to visit my mum in the chapel of rest.

My father passed away in Scotland on holiday & I thought it was going to be very difficult to arrange getting him home. This however was not the case. I called James in the middle of the night when I first heard my father had passed away. From the first moment we spoke I new I had made the right decision on calling James because he helped put my mind at ease by explaining the whole process even though it was in the early hours of the morning. The funeral itself was perfect & just what my father would of wanted.
