As I don’t live in the area my brother’s nursing home recommended J T Howe. Thank goodness they did. From my first confused phone call James was helpful, considerate and calm. He met us out of hours and walked me through my first time arranging a funeral.
James’ manner was perfect and all his recommendations from minister to florist were spot on.

When my sisters passed away I had a drive around the local funeral directors to find the rite place for my sister. J.T.Howe was the only place from the outside that actually looked like a funeral directors. As soon as I walked through his door James put me at ease & I new I had made the rite choice. I like the way James didn’t force me into any decisions but how he also guided me when I was lost. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this young man & his beautiful welcoming funeral home.

We used the services of J.T.Howe, a local family funeral service, for both my mum`s and dad`s funerals in recent years, and we really cannot speak highly enough of them. Everything that James did for us when mum died was done with kindness, thoughtfulness and sincerity. He helped us through the saddest of times by taking away the pressure of having to organize everything, and by making sure that mum's wishes were carried out.
Nothing was too much trouble and he was incredibly supportive throughout this terribly sad time. I can't thank him enough.

James and his team are exactly who you want by your side when you need to make funeral arrangements. He is all the things you expect from a funeral director (compassionate and knowledgeable) but so much more. He lives and works in the High Peak and genuinely cares about the families he works with as well as having that essential local knowledge. He is an independent funeral director and won’t try to sell you a particular package in the way that some of the larger well known funeral directors do. At such a difficult time you need to be able to trust that not only will your loved one be cared for but also that the team working with you want the best for you and your family.

Choosing a funeral director is never an easy task, but it's crucial to find the right company when the time comes. I can't stress enough how important this decision is. When we had to make that choice, we knew we made the right one by contacting J.T. Howe.

With my recent loss of my mum, we started reaching out to local funeral directors. My mum had a simple wish for a minimal and fuss-free cremation without a celebrant. All our family wanted was a quiet moment of reflection at the crematorium to bid our final farewell.

After contacting a few funeral directors who couldn't accommodate our wishes, I reached out to J.T. Howe and spoke with Emma. She immediately reassured us that our wishes were possible and started making the arrangements. It was a tremendous relief, and Emma's compassionate approach made the emotional situation much easier to bear.

The next day, we visited their office and worked out all the details with Emma's husband, James. He took care of us throughout the entire process, from planning to the actual day of the funeral.

The funeral turned out exactly as we had hoped, faultless and meaningful. James even went the extra mile to reassure my young son, which meant a lot to me.

If you're in search of a funeral director, I highly recommend giving Emma and James a call. They are two lovely and caring individuals who genuinely want to honor your loved one's final wishes in the best possible way.

We experienced a professional and caring service from start to finish, my mum lost her husband and was treated with great kindness and understanding, everything was taken care of and suggestions helped to build a service in a very upsetting time when minds are not working as usual, cannot recommend enough.

I can’t fault the service we received from Jason (& Emma) for my mum’s funeral. 
He guided us with choices, was respectful at every encounter, understanding and patient when we repeatedly changed our minds and he made suggestions where we needed them, some of which reduced our costs. 
With hindsight he made a terrible time for us more bearable. 
Although I’d rather not have to use his services again he would definitely be the person I would turn to, to help us get through it.

He has been considerate, informative and supportive about our choices as a family at every step in the process. His firm is also reasonably priced.
