Carlyon are a local family run funeral directors who made a very difficult time a lot easier.
I was left in no doubt that Mum was in kind and caring hands.
Beautiful setting light,bright and uplifting in what was a sombre time for us.
They listened to the wishes that my Mum had left and helped make them happen.
We would certainly recommend them if you want the personal touch.

I cannot fault the service we received from Carlyon Funeral Directors. They were so helpful  and supportive, were always available to answer any questions we had and were thoroughly professional.
Thanks to their help and advice we were able to arrange a lovely and very personal celebration of our Fathers life.

From first contact up until we received mums ashes back , Carlyon Funeral Directors gave an absolute first class service. Nothing was too much trouble. From the moment I called Carlyon funeral directors I felt reassured. My grandfather had passed away in Kent & Carlyons collected him & brought him home to Cornwall & into their care at a very reasonable price, which was peace of mind in itself. The compassion, diplomacy, & gentle understanding shown by Carlyons throughout the funeral planning was absolutely excellent in what was somewhat a challenging situation due to unusual family circumstances. Nothing was too much trouble & I was kept informed every step of the way. My grandfathers wishes were met & was laid to rest with dignity, where he wanted to be. I highly recommend using this company as their care & service is outstanding.

After our experience earlier this year, I recommend Carlyon’s wholeheartedly. When my father died, Andrea first arranged for his transfer from Dorchester , by herself and her husband. She then guided our family through the sensitive process of organising his funeral, taking great care to produce an order of service that reflected his wishes and ours. Her attention to detail, the ease of communication, her compassion and kindness did not waver at such a difficult time for the family. She liaised with those of the family who wanted to contribute in their own ways, and in the end we all felt that he had been given a truly appropriate send-off. A huge thank you to Andrea and her wonderful team.

When my Dad passed away towards the end of May, we called Andrea at Carlyon to take care of things for us. We simply couldn’t have made a better choice. 
Every step of the way, Andrea and her team were thoughtful, respectful, warm and kind in all their actions and suggestions. 
Andrea quickly tuned in to our emotional state and set about making things as easy to deal with as possible, and allowing us to make Dad’s funeral exact to our wishes. The icing on the cake was allowing us to choose the route for Dad’s final journey, taking in the beautiful beaches and coastline that he loved to be near. 
Andrea and her team took care of Dad in such a way that we felt he was truly being looked after, which was hugely comforting.

We were drawn to Carlyon from their excellent webpage. We felt it was far more personal and welcoming than the larger corporate companies and not living in the area was something we were looking for.
On making contact with Andrea we immediately felt valued and welcomed. She was compassionate but not over the top and her interaction with us felt totally genuine.
Nothing was too much trouble, suggestions were put forward to us to think about, things we hadn't maybe thought about, never pushy or as though we were taking up too much of Andrea's time.
Contact with Andrea was always answered promptly whatever the time of day.
The funeral went perfectly, every little detail was covered we didn't have to worry about anything. Andrea and her team were absolute professionals in everything they did, it was as though we'd known Andrea for years almost like a family friend. David and the rest of the team on the day were friendly and professional also.
Having not had to arrange a funeral before the daunting prospect was made so effortless by Andrea, she took the lead, listening to what we wanted offering advice and letting us decide.
