Originally established in 1921 Wedlake Funeral Home (Nick Jago and David Michael Funeral Directors) is a funeral directors in St Austell, Cornwall. From their modern funeral home in St Austell, they offer funeral services to all of Cornwall.
In 1921 Fitzroy Wedlake set up his funeral business in Higher Bugle, St Austell. It was later taken over by Mr Wedlake’s Son Geoff, who in turn handed the business over to his sons, Alan and Roderick. Alan looked after the funeral side of the business but sadly died young so his younger brother Roderick took over the business.
Nick Jago and David Michael have now been entrusted looking after the funeral home and attending to the funeral needs of the local community. They are both highly experienced and fully embedded in the local community, having both grown up and worked in the local area.
In 1989 the Purpose-built Chapel of Rest was built, and in 2018 the funeral home was completely refurbished to meet the needs of a modern funeral home. The home is fully equipped with a comfortable family arranging room and a peaceful chapel of rest, where you and your family can visit your loved one and say your final goodbyes.
Each funeral will be unique and meet the wishes of you, your loved one and your family. Nick and David are keen that a dignified funeral can also be an affordable one. They can arrange any type of service, from a traditional religious ceremony, to a modern celebration of life.

Nick Jago and David Michael, of Wedlake Funeral Home, were exceptionally compassionate, understanding, supportive and empathetic when my dear Aunt died. They were always available to give guidance through the sad situation the death of a loved one brings. They, and their Team, were so professional, even when they collected my Aunt from the nursing home she passed away in, they were dressed immaculately and were very respectful right from the outset.
