Standard Simple Funeral

Service includes:

This is what Co-op Funeralcare offer as part of their Simple Funeral:

They will remove your loved one from their place of death into their care within a 50 mile radius
If death occurs out of normal working hours, at home or in a care home, they will remove your loved one into their care, out of hours, at no extra cost
They will prepare, care for and dress your loved one in a gown to match the interior of their Basic Coffin
Your loved one will rest in their mortuary facility, or if required, a private rest room in their funeral home
You’ll be able to visit your loved one during normal working hours at no additional charge
They will transport your loved one from the funeral home to the crematorium or burial site in a ceremonial vehicle of their choice
On the day of the funeral, a wheeled bier will be used or the family can bear the coffin
They will make all necessary arrangements for a dignified funeral
Your funeral director will be there at the funeral to support and guide you through the funeral

Generally good however the branch closed for a week before my fathers funeral which left me feeling very unsure of what was happening. If a branch closes they need to tighten up ways of communicating with the families. The funeral director was lovely.

I did not receive any phone calls or emails to update me on where my brother was or when the cremation would take place. I had to initiate a response by phoning or by an email. Whatever has happened to good old customer service especially to a grieving family. I was disappointed with the complete lack of contact.

The people were wonderful, don’t get me wrong, but what really REALLY annoys and niggles me and makes me cross, hence the ‘average’ score, is the blatant advertising in the hearse. On a day when you’re at your absolute lowest and when they’ve been great on a personal level the last thing I expected to see was the Co op advertising it’s funeral services and my mum’s funeral being used as a blatant advertising opportunity. Really upset by that.
