In loving memory of Ferdinando Sepicacchi who sadly passed away on 25th February 2021 Aged 93 Years.

Ferdinando (or George to some) was born in Italy, but lived in England most of his life. He initially came alone to settle with his brother, developing his farming and gardening skills, before his wife Clara and their two daughters Liliana and Marisa joined him.

As the family built their life here, the family grew; first six grandchildren, then 14 great-grandchildren, all of whom knew Ferdinando as Nonno. They all loved spending time with him, and big occasions were a delight for everyone. It was especially wonderful to have everyone together as they celebrated many milestones, occasions when Ferdinando and Clara would often be first on the dance floor.

Often relatives from Italy would also visit, as Ferdinando’s overwhelming sense of family meant that those ties remained strong. Ferdinando and Clara had a flat in Italy so trips to the country were trips home, rather than holidays, their time being spent with the large families on both sides.

Family was just one part of Ferdinando’s life though, and he made a great many friends, who will remember him for his smile, hard work and amiable nature. He was definitely one of those people that whistled/sang while he worked, as many of his former colleagues at Gladwells will likely remember.

So it is a remarkably large and spread-out group of family and friends who will now remember Ferdinando with joy, and will miss the opportunity to hear his famed accordion playing, and see him being the main attraction at future gatherings.

Nonno, Biz Nonno,
We will miss your happy smile, your music that you shared with your piano accordion and the tunes you hummed and tapped along to.
Always in our hearts ❤
