In loving memory of Raymond George Orris who sadly passed away on 8th December 2020. Ray will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years Carole, his sons Raymond (Melanie) and David (Lisa) and his two grandchildren Stanley and Alfie.

Ray was born in Catford 1941, to parents Stanley Frank Orris and Edith Jesse Orris he was one of 7 siblings. He was educated at Downham Secondary Modern School he also attended the boys brigade and Goldsmiths Hall where he learnt to be a gymnast. (This helped him later on in life when he could walk on his hands from The Tiger Moth pub all the way home)

Ray and Carole were married at Lewisham Register Office, April 1963 by Special Licence "the day before the tax rebate" then moved to Chatham in 1965 from London where they bought their first house. Following a serious motorbike accident Ray attended a rehabilitation college in Nottingham for 6 months studying instrumentation. This led to a job at Empire Paper Mill. In 1970 Raymond jnr came along followed by David arriving 1971. He then moved on to take a job with Burroughs & Welcome where he completed over 23 years service before retiring at the age of 53.

Ray led a full and diverse life. After achieving his black belt in Judo Ray went on to work for the KCC teaching Judo for 18 years. He was a very keen golfer being a member of Sittingbourne Golf Club for over 40 years but could often be found at the 19th Hole. Ray made great friends at the club with many golf trips down to Oakhampton. He became a Freemason in 1979 which played a big part of his life.

Since retirement in February 1995 Ray and Carole went on many holidays their first one being the holiday of a lifetime, visiting many places around the world. This was when they found a love for cruising. In 1996 Ray bought his first Goldwing, then went on to join the Honda Goldwing Club where for the next 12 years he and Carole travelled to many places around Europe. Many holidays were taken to Calis Turkey which was almost like their second home.

We are truly blessed to have had such a wonderful man in our lives, we will miss you always.
