When I was about 10 (a long time ago) I visited Uncle Vic & Auntie Joyce, John and Susan for a week.Whilst there we went on a day trip to Great Yarmouth and spent some time on the beach.
During this time I somehow became separated from them and was taken to a Lost Property where I spent the whole day until Auntie Joyce found me just in time to catch the bus to go home! Since then I saw very little of John as I emigrated to Australia in 1971 and our families did not keep in close contact. I returned to England for the first time in 1996 and my husband and I visited Auntie Joyce then and also in 2003/4 but John and Jan were always overseas. John and Jan also visited us in Australia and we had a wonderful dinner at a local winery. On our next visits to England in 2008 and 2013 John and Jan welcomed us very warmly into their home. I was so happy we had that time to get to know each other better. It saddens me to know that we will never 'catch-up' again, not even via crazymanonabike blog! Farewell cousin John, we didn't share a lot of memories but those we did share were happy ones.

This is in memory of my cousin John Bell. I am sad I won't be seeing John again on my future visits to England, I, along with my husband Tony so enjoyed those visits very much.
