Some of my fondest memories of Dotty take place right in her kitchen. As a youngster , I loved sitting in her kitchen on her high stool just chatting away. There was always so much giggling, usually while preparing our supper or busy whipping up one of her bread and butter puddings.
Trips to the bungalow or Alston Court were always filled with her same energy whether we were heading out for a meal , walking along the seafront , or exploring local historic gardens near our family home in Kent. Dotty had a genuine zest for life that was infectious; she could put a smile on anyone’s face.
She seemed to know everyone and she always had a fresh anecdote or a funny story to share. With those bright blue eyes and her warm smile . She had a wonderfully cheeky side too and I don’t think any of us grandkids will ever forget the absolute hysterics we were in when we discovered she was reading Fifty Shades of Grey!
I will miss her dearly , but most of all the laughs we shared.
