In loving memory of Tracey Louise High who sadly passed away on 29th July 2022.

A celebration of her life will be held after the funeral at Holme Lodge, 1 Julian Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham NG2 5AQ, to which everyone is welcome.

As most of you know Tracey was born in the City Hospital, Nottingham on the 25th of February 1978, to the most loving, adoring and caring parents, Ken and Helen High. Nothing was ever too much trouble for their little angel. Dad forever reminding everyone that she was never any bother, she was safe and they always knew where she was!

Tracey also had 2 sisters and 4 brothers. Elaine, Rob, John, Martyn, Andrew and Kate. She was an auntie many times over and a great auntie. She had lots of aunt's, uncles and cousins who live all over Great Britain, in Canada and Australia.

Her early years were spent in Aspley with mum, dad and uncle Bill. The house was always full of love and laughter with many happy family Do's. Tracey loved watching her cartoons and listening to music. Some of which was played by dad on his mouth organ, guitar or piano accordion. This is when Tracey first got the nickname 'Shufflewick', for always sliding down to the edge of the sofa and having to be propped back up with her cushions. We think she was doing it to stop dad playing his instruments! Dad carried her everywhere and was always making her giggle. This gave Tracey a liking of men's voices which in later years prompted her to turn her head and flutter her lashes to all the deep voices she heard around her. Most days Tracey also had special time amongst her friends at Shepherd School, Beechdale. Here she went on boat trips, enjoyed pony riding, swimming, discos and shopping. She loved it all.

In her teenage years the three of them moved to a bungalow. Once again visitors were always welcome and always well fed. Tracey loved the garden here. Spending time on her swing, in the paddling pool or like most teenagers, doing a bit of sun bathing. This is where her love of bold colours became so obvious. Especially her hats, caps and sunglasses. Her favourite being bright pink. Her indoor days were as equally entertaining. Watching a bit of TV, relaxing to the sound of the tropical fish, cuddling her pet dog Shandy, or giggling to the funny antics of the cockatoo. Girl power had now arrived so the Spice Girls, S Club 7, Steps and Take That were always playing on the radio.

Dad had finally got a car so was able to take them out and about. In fact, they were hardly ever in ! They loved visiting various relatives, spending time at Wollaton Park or popping down to the Marina. A good rummage around the markets was also another favourite. Their happiest times away were on their holidays in Mablethorpe. Often accompanied by other members of the family. Freda & Roy, Uncle Malc & Fi, Bill and family, Anita, Rob & Sandra, Elaine & Rob to name just a few. Dad used to say, 'Well the more the merrier makes more fun'!

Tracey's best holiday was when her mum and dad took her to Canada on a Jumbo Jet. She met the Captain during the flight and was picked up in a Limo' at Toronto airport to spend time with her Canadian relatives. She stayed with uncle Horace and auntie Marian, who were also her godparents. Tracey was treated like royalty by all the family over there.. Grand Bend Beach, Niagara Falls, and Canada's Wonderland were just a few treats in store. Then a cheeky trip into Michegan in the States to buy some Disney T.shirts and a new Donald Duck cap. Tracey also loved family parties. Her 21st being a fabulous occasion and more special because it was held at a large venue meaning that her friends from school could be there too. She was definitely the Dancing Queen that night.

Sadly, by the time of the Millennium, both of her parents had passed away. This was the beginning of Tracey's new life. Of course, many of us were initially very concerned. Then in September 2000 Auntie Dot and I took Tracey to Holmelodge. A little apprehensively at first, as this was to be her new home! We needn't have worried! We were met by the biggest smile and loving open arms of Nusrat who at this time was to be Tracey's Key Worker. We could tell immediately that she was going to be in the safest of hands.

During her 22 years at Holmelodge, Tracey has been surrounded by the kindest people. Their constant love, care, attention and support has always shone through. Tracey's medical needs have always been met with great urgency and professionalism. Earth Angels, everyone of them. Whilst here Tracey gained a whole new family and many more friends who referred to her as the 'Sparkly Princess'. Quite right too! This new way of life enabled Tracey to experience a number of new and exciting things. Social evenings, The Theatre, Pantomimes, Craft days, Live Gigs, more Parties, more Shopping and Holidays. Her ultimate big trip was to Disney Land Paris to meet her idols. Her love of Micky Mouse & Donald Duck carried through to her 40th birthday. When she had yet another great party and a fantastic trip to see Disney on Ice. More Magical Memories Made.

Tracey has also endured many health issues throughout her life. She has always battled on regardless leaving Doctors and Consultants over many years, flabbergasted at her unique determination to pull through, fight on and get back home. This gave her the most appropriate nickname in more recent years of 'Trojen Tracey'. She certainly carried that one well.

Tracey has no doubt left everyone who was lucky enough to know her with some wonderful memories to treasure.

Tracey Lou, my little sister has taught me determination, bravery, courage, and strength. The true meaning and the power of real love and the importance of a good sense of humour. Things that I will cherish forever.

Love you Tracey Trace x
