Jane is such a caring funeral director, she was very kind to my dad upon the sudden death of my mum. She gave really careful attention to the fine details and concerns of arranging the funeral. I can absolutely recommend Jane and Debbi  to take great care of your loved one at this awful time.

Jane and Debbie were the best people to deal with. Both were so professional but friendly and made a very difficult time seem bearable. They kept me in the loop every step of the way. The drivers and staff on the day of the funeral were also so good. Would definitely recommend.

Everything that was organised by Jane&Debbie was good on every level, very helpful and supportive. On arrival the delay of 20mins in entering the chapel due to previous services running over and having to stand outside was not appreciated,this however was not the fault of Thorntons.

Jane and Debbi at Thorntons have been absolutely fantastic throughout.  They provided the perfect mix of sympathy, compassion, understanding and humour, which helped me progress through the most difficult of times.  We appreciated Jane walking the hearse further past Tesco Express in the rain, so Mum’s customers and colleagues could greet her coffin, calmly ignoring the impatient cars beeping behind her.  I also appreciated how they calmly dealt with the delayed payment from HSBC due to a clerical error on the bank’s part.  Thank-you to them both for their caring and sympathic approach.

Living in Australia and having to organise a funeral in the UK for my Father, not having had any previous experience of such things was very daunting, I honestly did not know where to begin. At Sherburn in Elmet they were extremely professional, incredibly understanding, tremendously helpful and above all they were kind. They guided me through the process step by step and were delightful to work with from the very start through to the end at such a traumatic time.

I would not hesitate to recommend their services, they were amazing.

We dealt with Debbie who was professional but very aware of our distress. She was personable throught and both her and Jane kept in touch to ensure they understood our requirements and checked that the order of service , the delivery of service etc was exactly to our requirements. This has been our second use of there services and I would recommend them wholeheartedly.
