There were difficulties associated with the arranging of the funeral due to our living 75 miles from Leeds, (the location of the death and cremation). These were not problems for the Funeral directorate but it meant that the whole process of obtaining the medical report, the death certificate, the green form required a visit to Leeds since electronic transfer of documents has not reached this process yet. Thus personal contact with the funeral service was not possible as an on-going process. Otherwise the arrangements proceeded as required mainly via telephone and email. This was not ideal.

My good friend and his family over the years have used Gooding Funeral Services around 10-12 times. And now I know why.

Right from the initial meeting with Sonia, she was kind, respectful and very professional regarding the arranging of my wife's funeral. She guided us through our options and throughout the preparations she answered our questions and notified us of any problems.

We chose a humanist service and then a burial at Hunslet Cemetery, Leeds. As a family, we had no experience with either. The service and burial were a magnificent tribute to my wife who passed away at 55. This is all due to Sonia and her staff at Gooding Funeral Services being kind, patient and compassionate. They couldn't do enough for us.

Many people who attended the funeral have stated that it was a wonderful service and how professional Goodings were.

On behalf of my son, daughter and myself I would like to thank Gooding Funeral Services for everything that they have done. They were superb.

Gooding funeral services were so professional, and respectful for my father's funeral.
They helped me and my family give my dad the sent off he deserved. They answered any and all questions I had, and kept me up to date with all the details.

The service was good but I would like to see those providing the service on the day take more care in their appearance. Ie they need to smartened up their appearance.

Gooding Funeral Service have been undstanding, caring and professional throughout the whole process of laying my husband John to rest.

They addressed all my concerns and questions either by phone, email or Zoom meetings
during this difficult time of loosing my husband.

They have also navigating me through the process of the Covid - 19 restrictions.

All of Gooding Funeral Service employees spoke to me with compassion and respect. All working with me at my pace to ensure the service arrangements met my
Wishes and needs.

For example, on the day of the service my sister's in law and I wanted to walk a short distance in front of the Hurst. This was not pre-arranged but compassionately accommodated. I know my husband John would have been proud of his sisters and myself for taking this small measure of respect.

I would like to take this opportunity, on behalf of both families, to thank Gooding Funeral Service for their empathy and professionalism in taking good care of my husband John and the empathy and professionalism shown to both family.
