Standard Simple Funeral

This is what Co-op Funeralcare offer as part of their Simple Funeral:

They will remove your loved one from their place of death into their care within a 50 mile radius
If death occurs out of normal working hours, at home or in a care home, they will remove your loved one into their care, out of hours, at no extra cost
They will prepare, care for and dress your loved one in a gown to match the interior of their Basic Coffin
Your loved one will rest in their mortuary facility, or if required, a private rest room in their funeral home
You’ll be able to visit your loved one during normal working hours at no additional charge
They will transport your loved one from the funeral home to the crematorium or burial site in a ceremonial vehicle of their choice
On the day of the funeral, a wheeled bier will be used or the family can bear the coffin
They will make all necessary arrangements for a dignified funeral
Your funeral director will be there at the funeral to support and guide you through the funeral

My Mum had requested a direct cremation and when the time came I rang the Co-op as a trusted and well known funeral service. From start to finish we could not have had more support or care. Karla was absolutely wonderful-empathetic, kind and knowledgeable. She assured us that, while no one from the family would be present, the service and the care Mum received would be the same as any other funeral service. The only difference was that we, as requested by Mum, would not be at the crematorium. My husband and I have decided that we too will use the Co-op for our own direct cremations when that time comes for us. Thank you Co-op Funeral Care.

From first contact Susan and Ashley were totally professional. Approachable, kind and compassionate. Susan spent time listening, and understanding what individual families face during a bereavement. Supported my family and I before, during and after the funeral. During a last visit to my relative Ashley offered to go and sit with me. This was very thoughtful, above and beyond my expectations.

We had the ongoing support of a celebrant, Suzanne Nolan, who enhanced the service at the beginning and end of the funeral. She listened and wrote a piece that was both respectful and offered an insight into our family member. Definitely an asset to us all.

Ashley and Sue at Blackburn co op were very personable, patient, friendly and professional. Nothing was too much trouble, everything went so smoothly and they showed so much empathy. Ashley recommended a celebrant Leisa Who was fantastic too. We were dealing with them via Zoom or telephone as myself and my brother were in Sheffield and Derbyshire. I would highly recommend this team abs can’t thank them enough.
