From start to finish the professional approach Flint staff  demonstrated  gave us confidence in making decisions. Mark, John and  Antonia gave advice and guidance based on many years experience and  had a desire to do the best for dad.  At a difficult time the experience was made easier with their help . W Flints gave my mum a dignified, wonderful send off. They guided me through all options and walked me through the process. They looked after Mum with respect and care and guided me and my family through the day of her funeral and each emotion. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a funeral director who cares about giving you what you need to say goodbye to your loved one. Their florist was very sweet when picking out flowers and Mark and John were amazing at advising us on how to make the day special while keeping it as pain free as possible. I was grateful for all their help.

From start to finish, John was amazing. Mark was also really helpful in responding to my queries while John was away, and Diane who conducted our mum’s service was absolutely fantastic.

Mum had her entire funeral planned with Flints, and all of  her wishes for how she wanted her funeral to be were honoured and respected by Flints. Claire also prepared the most beautiful wreaths for us.

On the day that my brother and I visited the Chapel of Rest ahead of mum’s funeral, John was very comforting and respectful.

There was absolutely nothing at all that we would change about the way that our darling mum’s service and the subsequent burial of her ashes 2 days later were conducted, and in fact Flints exceeded our expectations.

Whilst my brother and I were aware that at the end of the service, John and Diane would bow to mum as the curtains closed, there were a couple of lovely, memorable things that took place after the cars collected us from mum’s house that we weren’t expecting.

The way that John walked in front of the car that was carrying mum, all the way down to the bottom of mum’s road and on to the next road, before bowing to mum and getting in to the car was just wonderful. This showed such dignity and respect to mum and we felt so grateful.

Sandra, the driver of our car that followed mum’s car was very respectful and we shared some conversation about how long she had worked for Flints.

As mum’s coffin was carried in to the crematorium, John and Diane ensured that my brother and I walked behind mum and were seated first before the rest of the family and then the other guests entered the room.

John helped my brother and I plan all the logistics of the funeral from the word go,  talking us through the process, helping us decide to create a beautiful photograph slide-show of mum over the years, and explained how the more administrative side of things would work.

John was at the Chapel of Rest a few days before the service to welcome us and explain what mum’s resting room would look like before we entered.

It was very comforting talking to John after spending time with mum at the Chapel, which helped enormously. John ensured that all of the sentimental items we took to the Chapel were put in to mum’s coffin with her as per our request.

John honoured my brother and my wishes for us to keep a portion of mum’s ashes for ourselves ahead of the burial, and ensured that my request for a clip of mum’s hair for me to keep was also honoured. 

John ensured that our darling mum was dressed in the nightshirt that belonged to her beloved late sister ahead of the service, and all communication we had with Diane via Zoom and email regarding what we wanted her to say during the service was very easy, and Diane replied promptly to all our emails.

We really appreciated the way that John asked us to meet him at the cemetery 5 minutes before the actual burial, as this meant that as my brother lowered mum’s urn in to ground, the church bells rang at 10.00 am.

Thank you also to Mark for recommending Mansfield Memorials for mum’s headstone, who we found very helpful and easy to do business with.

We could not recommend Flints Funeral Services enough to anyone wishing to give their loved ones a beautiful and dignified send-off.

From start to finish the service we received was impeccable. The whole process was carried out in a very professional and dignified manner. Everyone remarked how beautiful the service was and my Mum received the send-off she deserved thanks to John who was very kind, competent, supportive and compassionate during this very difficult time. It was handled sympathetically with great attention to detail, we could not have asked for more. Very efficient and faultless throughout. I want to take the opportunity to say "Thank you".
