I can't thank Paige, Donna and everyone at Slaters enough for how well the looked after both my wonderful Mum and me during such a difficult time. The funeral was absolutely perfect. Paige couldn't do enough to make it exactly how we wanted, even making some small changes the day before (a bank holiday!).

A Slater & Son offer an extensive choice of coffins and caskets, including classic veneered and solid wood designs, eco-friendly wicker, bespoke picture coffins, and more. Funeral transport options are equally varied, including traditional hearses and luxury vehicles, horse-drawn carriages with black or white horses, motorcycle hearses and other unique options.

This Funeral Director can offer a peaceful, private chapel of rest where families can say their final goodbyes in comfort and privacy. If you’d prefer to make arrangements from your own home, they are more than happy to accommodate.

    We could not have asked for better. An absolute triumph delivered by all members of the Slater team with a particular mention to Paige who so nobly turned an otherwise daunting task into a celebration of our mother’s life with her poignant humanity and understanding. With a ready smile and an encouraging word to support us whenever needed. This was our second experience with Slater and they have never failed us. As before, we had many special requests; each enthusiastically welcomed and executed to the letter. A special recognition also to Donna and a heart-felt thank you to John Slater who took time out from his own busy day to pay his respects as a mourner.

    I unreservedly recommend A Slater and Son for their services in the Ashbourne, Derby and Uttoxeter regions.

    How lucky we were to have Donna and the team to organise our mum’s funeral.
    We met Donna and she helped us to give mum the funeral she would have wanted.
    The care and attention to detail was second to none.
    We knew mum was well looked after in the funeral parlour.
    Everything was perfect and we would highly recommend them. 
    There were lighthearted moments too with Donna, she knew exactly how to conduct herself. 

    At such a sad time A. Slater and Sons were absolutely wonderful.

    They were very thoughtful and caring nothing was too much bother every little detail we wanted was done perfectly down to letting the dogs travel in the limousine even though they were not allowed into the chapel to
    the traditional walk in front of the limousine.
    Thank you to Paige Donna and the rest of the team for helping us give our dad husband grandad and great grandad a truly lovely stress free service

    From our first meeting with Donna, she made this very sad time for our family very comfortable and stress free. Donna’s work ethic is second to none, she went above and beyond to make my Dads funeral very special for our family. Everyone that attended the funeral commented that it was the nicest funeral they had been to. Donna sorted the whole funeral for us including the church service then on to the crematorium and also the wake after, there was nothing that wasn’t first class. For anybody in the unfortunate situation of needing a funeral directors Donna at A Slater & Sons Ashbourne is fantastic. From all of our family we would like to say a massive thank to Donna and all of there staff
