I had a telephone call the day before the burial from Nicki who advised me she would be attending the next day. We talked about my mother and her love of music and Vera Lynn. Nicki was easy to talk to and very understanding. She advised me she would phone me the next day. I felt very comforted by her call. The following day Nicki rang to say that they carried Mum on their shoulders whilst playing Vera Lynn “We’ll meet again” also she changed the lyrics slightly to another song and read them to my mother. I was so moved and uplifted. Nicki had taken on board all my chatting. I enjoy telling friends and family of Mum being laid to rest with Dad and my Brother.
