About Us

Taunton Deane Crematorium was opened in 1963 and serves Taunton, Wellington and the surrounding areas. It received a Civic Award in 1965. The Grade 2 listed buildings are made from locally quarried stone with beautifully landscaped grounds that feature a large garden of remembrance.

The chapel at Taunton Deane Crematorium has seating for 120 people and standing room for more than 100 people. Music can be played live on a pipe organ or selected from a digital music system. Services at Taunton-Deane Crematorium can be webcast to mourners who cannot attend it in person.

There are waiting rooms for mourners to use if they arrive before the start of a service, as well as public toilets.

A range of memorials can be installed in the gardens of remembrance.

Taunton-Deane Crematorium is open 8am-5pm, Monday-Thursday and 8am-4:30 on Fridays. The crematorium is closed on weekends.
