In loving memory of Shirley Ann Gears who sadly passed away on 25th April 2022. Shirley had a tough start to life however she continued to grow and evolve throughout the rest of her life. Her family came first and she would prioritise everyone before herself. Shirley was always busy, she worked in a chip shop, cycle shop a dental lab and tea room and was also a teaching assistant. Her sunny positive nature was always a great lift to everyone who met her. She puppy walked 22 Guide dog pups over 20 years, started an art class and was a keen wrestling fan in her youth. Shirley enjoyed international travel which included numerous river and sea cruises and Shirley also spent significant time with her relatives who lived in Australia and the USA. She was a beloved wife and mum, grandmother and great grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who had the good fortune to have met her.

Fond memories of my Mum-in-law and friend.
On our wedding day Mum crawling along the jetty in her finery to rescue her corsage that had fallen into the lake.
Mum appearing on the deck with mugs of tea as we battled to stop our canal boat being washed into the river Trent in flood.
Making piles of bacon rolls for the fire crew as they pumped the water from our garden as it cascaded from a fractured water pipe on
Severus hill.

My Nana told me that when someone you love passes away, you fill the hole left in your heart with all the wonderful memories you have of the times you spent with them. Grandma spent so many wonderful times with us, that although the hole hurts right now, it is overflowing with lovely memories. I will personally miss how big and full of love her hugs were, her sense of humour, and how she brought light and joy to everyone she was with. All my love Grandma Yorkshire xxx

Grandma Yorkshire and her Great Grand daughter Robin. Grandma popped round just after she was born. I am so glad she did as Covid hit a couple of weeks later.
