In loving memory of Kaushik Purkayastha who sadly passed away on 6th April 2022.

Kaushik was born on 3rd September 2000 in Bedford. He went to St Michael's School and Oakwood Park Grammar School in Maidstone. After school, Kaushik went to Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge to study undergraduate degree in Psychology. He was in his final year.

Other than his studies, he has traveled to 27 countries and approximately 100 cities. He wrote some poems and a story that was published. He participated in the Royal Institution Christmas lectures and he was very proud to be a demonstrator of the experiments. He appeared on TV as the lectures were shown on BBC. He had part-time jobs including working at the Varsity Hotel in Cambridge. He told his friends and family about all the cocktails he could make.

Kaushik was kind, generous, friendly and caring. He would always try and make everyone smile. He will be dearly missed.

As a thank you to Addenbrooke's Hospital for their support during this difficult time, we would like to raise some money for their Charitable Trust.

Matthew Crawford donated in memory of Kaushik

With our prayers and condolences to Kaushik's family.
From Adam Crawford & family ( ex pupil of Oakwood Park)

Kawshik dear,
Even though there was no such contact with you, the place of you and Kanta in the jewel of my mind is as cherished as Maithili-Bandhan. So your sudden loss hurts me just as much as everyone else in your family. As a result, despite having a good relationship with your parents, I could not write a word of consolation to them. I feel that there is no language in the world to comfort the parents who are mourning their children. I don't know why the creator snatched you from us prematurely.
I remember the trip to Jaflong with you. Your joy, your lovely little naughty talk with ur brothers, your sweet smile, all of a sudden your sickness, your parents' worries about u are all still alive, only you are lost forever. You don't even know how much you are alive in the minds of your loved ones even after leaving the earth! Stay well in the lap of the Almighty, baba! We all love u a lot & miss u forever.❤️
