In loving memory of Peter Loftus who sadly passed away on 16th March 2022. Engineer and mathematician. Husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Former student of Dulwich College and Trinity College Dublin. Worked as an engineer in electronics and aerospace, becoming a teacher at the end of his career. Keen cyclist and swimming coach. Originally from Lewisham lived in Hartley, Kent and Rochester for most of his life. Was well until the death of his wife of fifty years, Audrey Loftus in 2014, but suffered increasingly from the effects of dementia since. Despite this managed to stay at home until January of 2022.

A wonderful man so generous with his time in his role as voluntary coach to the West Kent Meopham Tetrathletes, who were so successful due to his swimming and running training. One of these, Kate French, went on to win an olympic gold medal in Tokyo 2020.
