Royston Stubbs (4 Aug 1939 - 4 Mar 2022)

So sad to see this sad news…I just thought Roy would be around forever…he was such. A lovely man and a fantastic boss. I was so lucky to work for him and also go to HBA when I wrote a special 1 hour show of ‘Queen Story’ inc tracks etc …Roy taught me so much and supported me to push my boundaries …he was the best as was his wife Jo who also helped me grow….I owe them both so much.
Thank you Roy for all the lessons for life and the lovely memories …I still hate the Birdie Song!!
Sleep peacefully Roy…….I will never forget! 🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️ fly high with the angels!

Am saddened to have just today ( 7th June 2022 ) heard of Roy's passing. He was always cheerful, optimistic and it was always good to see him.

He joined me on a programme on his first day in Southampton HBA, when I was also there in 1980, and he subsequently became Chairman of the Association with distinction for many years. He was a good friend and colleague and will missed by all of us who knew him.

You will be sadly missed. Any time I met Roy at Hospital Radio he was always very welcoming.

So sorry we couldn’t make the funeral but we’ve very fond memories of you Roy and your show on hospital radio for mum will always be a fond memory for me. Rest in peace Roy and much love to your family xx

You were a kind, caring friend to us all, and such a sad loss in the City. The time you dedicated to Hospital Radio was amazing, and I will never forget your fantastic tribute to Mum on there. Sleep well Roy, now free from pain.
