As you may know, Arthur was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease three years ago and his condition had been in steady decline since then. He moved into a care home two years ago and lived there happily until the 12th of March when he passed away peacefully in his sleep.
It would mean a great deal to us if you were able to come along and join us in celebrating his life on the 4th April. The funeral will take place at 11am at the Kemnal Park Cemetery (address shown right), and afterwards you are most welcome to join us for refreshments and celebration of life at the GPO Pub (the Old Post Office) at 4 Passey Place, Eltham SE9 5DQ. Parking is available at the Passey Place Car Park by Sainsbury's.
Floral tributes would be most welcome, but if you prefer, you might consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Society (you can keep your donation private if preferred, by selecting the 'Hide donation' option).
Hope to see you then.
Sue, Howard and Helen.

Very saddened to hear the news of Great Uncle Arthur and his passing. The last of my Great Uncle's. My deepest condolences and sympathy to his family for their loss.

I have memories from Christmas 1977 when Arthur,Pat,Howard and Helen stayed over and we talked about Sunderland Football Club and Charlie Chaplin on Christmas Eve as he had passed that day, played crossfire, frustration and subboteo on Christmas Day.

As a 7 year old then it was a great memory. Many happy memories also when meeting up North with Arthur and Great Auntie Pat when visiting the Hay clan.
He will be missed

I was much saddened to hear of Uncle Arthur’s passing and wish to pass my sincere condolences to my cousins Susan, Howard and Helen and their families at this sad time. Under normal circumstances I would have hoped to be able to attend the funeral however given the current resurgence of COVID I believe it would be unwise. I will always remember Uncle Arthur (and Aunty Pat) with great fondness and will be thinking especially of him and all the family on the 4th of April.
