Alan Robert Woods. Alan was much loved and is missed immensely. Alan was born and raised in Arbroath, Scotland. He lived in England his entire adult life but remained a true Scot. He was a chartered accountant and had a lifelong career as a Finance Director for Willis Corroon Insurance Brokers and then UIB Insurance Brokers. In retirement he took up writing poetry as Alun Robert and became a prolific poet, having published over 120 poems in 2021. Alan was active in the Mid-Kent Stanza Poetry Group and the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve Poetry Group. Alan was an avid supporter of Ebbsfleet Football Club and particularly enjoyed doing stats and writing about the different football grounds when he attended away games. In addition he followed Dundee Football Club.
Alan passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of Friday, 18th February 2022. He leaves his wife of 25 years, Barbara; three children, Carmen, Naomi and Gavin; two granddaughters, Claudia and Joni; two cousins, Dorothy and Marjorie; and other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Friday, 1st April 2022, at Medway Crematorium. Floral tributes can be sent to the John Weir Funeral Directors, Chatham, by 11 am on 1st April 2022.

Alan will be sadly missed by all Fleet supporters.
I knew Alan over many years from The Village Hotel in Maidstone to chatting at every home game where he would come and find me to discuss the previous game and that days game. Alan was always so up beat with anything to do with the Fleet.
I will sadly miss our chats and his infectious smile.
My love and best wishes to his family and friends. Ian
