In loving memory of Silford Silvester James who sadly passed away on 25th February 2022 aged 63.

Silford was born on September 4th 1958, to Mary and Clinton James in Nottingham, UK. He was one of 9 children.

He worked as a steel pipe worker at Saint Gobain (Stanton Steel) for all his life and took great pride in his work. Throughout his 44 years at Saint Gobain he never called in sick and even went into work with a broken foot once, he was a strong dedicated man who completed any task he put his mind to.

Silford will be remembered by his friends and family as a generous man, one who would drop everything and go out of his way to help if someone needed him, he was good with his hands and if you needed anything doing around the house he was your man!. For his children, he was and will simply always be the best dad in the world.

Silford is survived by his children; Joel, Tisha, Lucina and Felicia, his grandchildren; Chyna, Chayanna, Za'nyah, Zayaan and Jayceon, as well as his mother Mary and siblings Desmond, Harold, Frank, David, Rachel, Norma, Steven and Japheth.

As Silford passed away due to cancer we ask that instead of flowers, people kindly donate to Cancer Research UK. (FAMILY FLOWERS ONLY)

I've known Joel a long time, he is my best friend. I've watched Joel and his Dad over the years and I've been in awe of there relationship from day one. His Dad was always there for him in good or bad times, if he needed support, advice or help with anything his Dad would always be there for him either on the phone or there in person and that Love was reciprocated. When Joel started to have his own family I've watched how his Dad has supported him, how he has been there for all his Grandkids and how much they all love him to bits, In my head I would always say this man is a proper Dad. It was a few months ago, as mine and Joel's schedules are a bit hectic so we don't really see each other to often, but he called me and ask me to come out with him and his kids which I did. I sat back and I watched them for the few hours and I noticed the love his kids have for him and the love he gives them. I didn’t tell him but I was really proud of him that day…. When I got home and had time to reflect, his Dad Silford all this time was giving him the tools to be a Man, a Great Father like he was and he has done a excellent job. Rest In Eternal Peace Silford 🌹✨

Love you Silford ❤️❤️ I am so grateful i was blessed with your presence, guidance, wisdom and love for so many years. You was a dad to me, and a great one too, not a man of many words, but when you did speak i always knew to listen. You was always there for me, whether it was getting wasps out my house, fixing my tyres or coming to my scans when pregnant. You was always there, with your quiet voice and big smile. I give thanks for knowing you. The best dad to your children, the best grandad to my children and overall the most amazing man i have come across. I love you my father-in-law forever and always. ❤️❤️❤️
