I still can't process this news. I know I and many others others will always cherish the fond memories we share of our friend. My deepest sympathies to all of Sam's family and friends, our loss is great. I wish you all, peace and comfort as you grieve.

It is a curse to miss people because yearning for them may partially ebb, but it never fully goes away.
It is sometimes most prominent when you least expect it or when you realise it has been years since you saw this person in the flesh. It’s a form of heartbreak and if you’re familiar with it, you'll understand how lucky you are to be blessed with this curse.

My mucker Sam,

I can't believe you have been taken from us. We first met at Danielle and John's engagement party, and had a dance together, friendly from the start, and who knew I actually knew your mum first, from a night class on the Shankill, bless her, she's going to miss you so much (thinking off you Harriet)

I believe it was a few years before we started socialising, hitting up all the clubs and gigs together, we had a blast, great to have a sidekick as a girl, me taking sneaky photos of passers-by so we could check out how short that skirt really was 😉 let's face it you were a pretty good sidekick too, despite the night you had thought the night was still young, and ended up falling asleep on your sofa spilling your beer on me, while you'd had me watching crappy football, maybe not as young as you thought.

I loved all our time together and our friendship over the years, I will never forget you and thankfully I do have many photos of our great adventures with you and some of your dear family, who at this time will all be devastated that you are gone.

You are a beautiful person with a heart of gold, you with your hairless skin that women would kill for.

Rest in peace my wee mucker xx

Grew up with Sam in the Shankill Estate, we lived opposite him, (Esther, Billy, Margaret, Annette and Alison Kelly) great times. Still can’t believe this news. My thoughts and prayers are with the whole family circle. Gone but never forgotten
