I worked with John from 1970 at Fry's. I remember two stories he told us during our tea-breaks. They both centred around his time at Marsh & Baxter, Brierley Hill in the 60's. The first story was when he had been warned about his time keeping due to the fact that he had to catch two buses so may often missed the second bus if bus number one was late. Anyway the next day he got to bus stop number one good and early and while he was waiting he looked down and noticed he still had his CARPET SLIPPERS ON. So it was back home to change into his boots risking another telling off.
The second story was when he was working in the roof-space above the board-room. He missed his footing and crashed with both legs through the ceiling during a board-meeting! He wasn't sacked but he was extremely embarrassed by the incident.

Remember Jobhn as a neigghbour when we lived in Windsor Grove always a happy family man and a wonderful electfricisn helped us out many time when we needed help lovely thoughts of him

Have fond memories of Alan coming up to ask dad to have a look at a switch or light fitting. He’d always help somebody out. 💖💖
