Robert Blackburn (21 Jun 1952 - 25 Dec 2021)

In loving memory of Robert who sadly passed away on 25th December 2021 with his family around him. Beloved husband of Deirdre, he was also a much loved step-father, grandad and brother.

Bob was a quiet and private man until you got to know him well. People would then see the kind, caring and humorous man he really was. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren, and would do anything for them.

He was well liked and respected in his Army career and also by his colleagues when he worked in the IT department at Interflora.

In September 2020 Bob and Deirdre moved into a bungalow which they were making 'their own' for what they hoped would be many happy years together. Unfortunately in April 2021 Bob was diagnosed with terminal cancer. He had treatment and great care at Weston Park Hospital in Sheffield and when he was at home from The Doncaster Community Specialist Palliative Care Team, the District Nurses and Dr Holloway from The Burns Practice. Bob spent his last five weeks in St John's Hospice and could not have received better treatment. We are requesting family flowers only please but donations in Bob's memory, if desired, can be made to the Hospice via W E Pinder funeral directors.

Bob will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
