Things I'll remember about Lee: good conversation, football banter, his love of fishing and our shared interest in aviation. Above all, his cheery manner and positive outlook on life. Kind thoughts to all your family and those you were closest to you.

So many memories over more than 50 years, both happy and sad. Memorable holiday we shared in Tunisia in the early 70’s when Lee bought lots of herbs and spices for his cooking back home - only to be stopped from buying a large quantity of one powder by the stall holder who explained it was hair pomade ! Could have been an interesting meal…..
Regular discussions about fish and fishing, a shared passion with Lee and Dave - not much about the “ ones that got away”.
RIP Lee, your legacy will go on xx

As the originator of the York
Shakespeare Project I knew Lee (and
his wife, Linda) as founder and active committee members. It is a shame that Lee didn't live to see the project, in it's first iteration anyway, come to completion with the staging of 'The Tempest' in early summer this year.

Some personal memories of my Uncle Lee. I always new that if I wanted the answer to any question then I could ask my Uncle Lee. He always had an answer, sometimes the answer was long, he could chat! :D He would fascinate me with his history knowledge and had many fascinating facts about York especially. He was also very helpful to me when I was messaging him about our interesting family history and we had some fun telephone chats about this. As a child I remember visiting my Uncle Lee and Aunt Linda in their flat near Abington in Northampton. My Uncle would play the guitar and sing Streets of London, and my Aunt had a fully stocked arts and crafts drawer which which I loved. I also enjoyed staying with them in York. I remember as a child covering my hair in baby oil, which he found very amusing, it to a good few washes to wash out. I also took my own children to visit and my aunt and uncle took us on their “York tour!” I am sad I didn’t get to say a proper goodbye to him but I treasure some fond memories. RIP dear man xx
