The saddest news - I've known Phil for forty years, and there has been no one better. A gentleman in every sense of the word, a superb hi-fi dealer, fair honest and so knowledgeable. An irreplaceable loss to his family, and to all who were privileged to know him. May he rest in peace.

It is with great sadness we announce the death of Philip Macaulay, on the 25th November 2021 who passed away peacefully at home with his family around him after a short but brave battle with cancer.
A loved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and second generation owner of John Kirk Hifi in Beeston – he brought happiness and joy to those around him and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
His funeral will be held on Thursday 9th December 2021 by invitation only due to Covid restrictions on numbers, but can be viewed via the link below
In lieu of flowers, we would like to request donations to be made to charities close to Phil’s heart: Macmillan and Hayward House.

Morning Phil,
You must have been so proud of your amazing family on Thursday at your funeral. They held up their heads and did the impossible, with adorable love, all in your name. The Wollaton was filled with laughter, reflection, memories but mostly kindness, the most wonderful thing of all. A perfect a perfect tribute to you, and the people you held dear in your life.
We will take you with us to your happy place whenever we visit and toast to you, there will be so many Miguel O’clocks! Thanks for the memories dear friend, we will miss your physical self, but we know you’ll always be there with us in our hearts. Tough times are ahead without you, help us through it mate.
