In loving memory of Gladys Taylor who sadly passed away on 11th November 2021

Used to listen endlessly of my grandad telling me stories of him and his sister growing up. How they always used to pinch great grandads tomatoes and swap them at school for sweets. He talked very fondly of great aunt Gladys and uncle Reg. Telling stories of him and great uncle regarding biking through Fenton and going for a big bowl of lobby laced with curry powder haha. Thinking of you all and omly sad that we never got to meet in later years. Sweet dreams aunty's Gladys xxx

My fondest memory is one that Grandma would not have approved at the time, Matthew and I were playing conkers in our dining room at Cotswold road, we didn't have shoe laces to thread the conkers on,we used wool, Matthew took, what can only be described,as a run and jump at my conker, the force was so great that the wool snapped sending the ballistic conker straight into Grandmas shin!! Grandad nearly swallowed his false teeth with such indignation at mine and Matthews lack of respect at wounding our beloved Grandma, and watching her furiously rubbing the large welt that was forming on her shin was far too much for 2 young school boys to take, I've never,Matthew and I have never laughed so hard in our lives at my poor Grandmothers expense! We will miss you terribly Grandma and look forward to seeing you soon and I assure you there won't be a conker in sight xx

  • it was actually at Grandmas house, we were playing conkers with Uncle Chris as well who always got us excited, it was grandma leaning back on the brown sofa in pain and chris laughing that made us laugh, but he could become straight faced and pretend to tell us off when he was holding back the laughter... great times and lovely memories.

  • I'm certain it was the back room in Cotswold road as I remember that old fire place

  • Too right Harriet, Chris and Graham would back away at the right time to leave me and Paul to face the music, they would say the boys got too excited when it was them who would trip us up or kick the ball hard into the daffodille flower bed, great times, we always loved with being with our Uncle Chris and Aunty Pat..
