Aunty Betty has been in my thoughts a lot this week, I am sorry I could not be there to say goodbye. She was kind and thoughtful and I have fond memories of visiting when I was growing up (my sister has already mentioned the pick n mix, which I also remember as being one of the best days out! She definitely won cool Auntie points that day). All things bright and beautiful include you Auntie Betty. You will be missed xxx

I have a fond childhood memory of visiting Woolworths for pick n mix with Auntie Betty when we stayed for a weekend, and walking to the park and laughing and tutting at Uncle Derek jaywalking and almost getting knocked over by a milk float. I hope others are recalling all their fondest memories to celebrate Betty's life and I send all my love. Sorry I could not be there in person, but I was in thought Xxx

2020 was a horrible year for all, but to me it will be known as the time I was able to spend time with my auntie Betty. Even if it was from afar.

Also that year I was able to witness two sisters reconnected and sharing the memories of their childhood and gave each other daily support. Giving each other love and support in what seemed to be the darkest of times. It is a reminder of how important it is to stay connected to our loved ones, and how Auntie Betty sacrificed so much and gave her time, love and energy unconditionally to all those nearest and dearest to her.

Sleep well Auntie Betty, you will always have a special place in our hearts.

Sometimes if we are lucky, we are blessed with someone dear,
To love throughout our lives, and when they’re gone, wish they were here.
There was no one quite like my Nan, she truly was one of a kind,
I can’t help but smile as wonderful memories come to mind.
