My Grandpa, a man I admired and respected. A man who loved his family and his wife dearly, I truely admired him for the care of my granny when she became ill. A man that was a gentleman through and through. A man of little words but made me feel safe and secure, he’s always been a solid and stable man in my life. A man that loved his garden and grew the best tomatoes and had the neatest of lawns and the straightest too. A man who enjoyed nothing more than to be away in his caravan with my granny by his side. A man who loved his Rover car and didn’t like little sticky handprints near it. A very prim and proper man who was quite particular and had his own way of doing things. A man who wouldn’t let anyone else set the fire and a man who made the best hot chocolates, a man who didn’t really say I love you but you could always feel it. Thankyou for being a great man Grandpa. Love your first born granddaughter I may add and love from your great granddaughters Amelia and her little sister at the moment known as bump. Xxx

You will always be my Spondon marmite man! Remembered warmly..
We’d chat about my Mum because she used to work at the factory years ago. Spread like chocolate, he liked it thick, always in squares never triangles! You’ll be missed by many, rest in peace Roger x

Very sorry to hear of Rogers passing, he was such a lovely man, a kind and funny soul. I will be thinking of you all, and have a drink in honour of him - of course it will have to be a red wine! Thoughts are with you all x
