Peacefully on June 5th surrounded by her loving family aged 69 years, Maureen (nee Strafford). A much loved wife, mam, mother in law, grandma, sister, sister in law, auntie, great auntie and special friend to many. Due to the current restrictions, a service will take place with limited capacity to those who are invited on Thursday June 17th in St Andrew’s Parish Church, Chilton Moor at 11.30am. Committal to follow in Sunderland Crematorium. Afterwards refreshments will be served in Dubmire Working Men’s Club. Family flowers only or donations in lieu of flowers if so desired will be kindly accepted for the work of Sight Savers. A charity helping towards protecting sight and fighting for disability rights. A donation box will be provided at the Church. All enquiries to Andrew Grey Funeral Directors, 9 North View Terrace, Chilton Moor Tel: 0191 3857213. Forever in our hearts.

I wish God could have spared you if just for a few more years.Maureen you are the mother I received the day I wed your son and I want to thank you mom for everything you’ve done. You’ve given me a gracious man with whom to share my life, you are his lovely mother and I his lucky wife. You used to pat his little head and now I hold his hand, you raised in love a little boy then gave to me a man .little Robbie never got to meet you but I will let him know how amazing you were ❤️. Rest in perfect peace xxxx
