John always seemed a cheerful and easy-going man. I mostly remember him from when Dave & I were teenagers and round at Dave's messing about with motorbikes. About 50 years later he greeted us in the pub with "Ay up Gaz, how's things", still as cheerful as ever!

John was a friend who was always cheerful. He always made me laugh with his cheeky humour. I will miss our Saturday evening meals. Missing you, love from Margaret ❤

What a great bloke John Rose (Rose dad) was, he used to brighten up my day coming into the bike shop to see Dave and have a game of knuckles with me. I’ll never forget the look of disgust on his face when I had another tattoo. Rest up old boy, you were certainly a character.
