Peter Pickford (3 Apr 1930 - 22 May 2021)

In loving memory of Peter Pickford who sadly passed away on 22nd May 2021 peacefully at his home in Aldbourne.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of almost 63 years June and his sons Andrew, Gary and David and their wives and grandchildren who remember him as fondly as ' PP'.
Peter was a former Jumps Jockey. He had a love of racing and watched it every day right up to his last days. He rode 190 winners. He started his career as an apprentice to Harvey Leader at the young age of 12 and rode his first winner when he was just sixteen. Peter hailed from Evesham originally and rode regularly for Rip and Jack Bissill and was also associated with Rosemary Lomax. He was proud to have ridden for the Queen Mother. His greatest racing achievement was winning the 1957 County Hurdle on Flaming East.
Due to Covid restrictions we are having a private service for family and close friends on 11th June 2021.
