In loving memory of Ian Byford who sadly passed away on 17th April 2021.

Ian was our step-dad and Grandad. Lucy and Conor were the light of his and Mum's lives and we so incredibly proud of the pair of them.

Ian sadly was diagnosed with cancer a couple of year ago. He had so many chemo and radiotherapy treatments but never complained. A bit grumpy every now and then but who wouldn't be. Then Mum passed away suddenly followed by lockdown. It was such a tough year for him. Not being able to see us all and contending with treatment.

He was a stubborn bugger and never really said exactly how bad he was feeling emotionally or physically. We are a family of not wanting to worry the other but still managing to worry them anyway.

We were thankful to be able to be there right through the last couple of weeks of his life. The grandkids, me, Douglas, Steph, Lauren and his brother. It was incredibly hard and distressing for us all but we had time to say goodbyes, share our love and above all say thank you for all the care he gave us and Mum.

We like to think they're on the gin and tonics now having a good chuckle at the turmoil they've created for us.

The money raised through this link is going to Macmillan. The nurses were above and beyond in their care for Ian and for that we are grateful.

Please do donate as much or as little as you can.

Love the ones you are with, give them hugs and share how much they mean to you.

With love and kindness from our family at this really sad time.
Ruth, Douglas, Conor and Lucy xxx
