Papi English,
I can't believe this moment has come, the moment I have to say goodbye. You were definitely the funniest and smartest grandfather I could have had. Very classy too, I never saw you in anything but your tie! An ace at porridge and onion soup. But above all someone who shared my interest in classical music and who kept asking me to play for him, sorry I didn't do it more. That's why today I'm playing for you, even accompanied by the piano! I will miss your stays in Chamonix, and leaving you my room for you and grandma too. The five of us are far away, but it doesn't stop us from thinking of you and loving you forever.
My favorite skier, I miss you already champion
Emilie

Our beloved father, I cannot find words to express how sad we all are . You were an incredible person, with so much knowledge & talent. You could do almost anything, & fix everything, you could even mend the unmendable !! Our children would have a box of «  things for papy to fix » every time you came to stay & you would always mend it all !!
You were still young at heart &always dreaming of all the things you did in your younger years, trying to get you to give up skiing at the age of 86 was a challenge for us ... and only last winter we had you skiing again in a ski chair , guided by an instructor,
You were a mind of information with an amazing memory, an amazing capacity do do things , & lots of stories to tell.
You loved your holidays in chamonix, enjoying Jérôme & your grandchildren Nicolas,Emilie & Alice, to all our family & friends here you are a complete legend.
I could go on forever about all the amazing things you did, you loved good food & wines, you loved life & lived it to the full.

I can shed tears that you have gone or I can smile because you lived
I can close my eyes & hope you come back, or open them & see all you have left
My heart is empty because I can’t see you, but is full of the love you shared
I will cherish every memory & let it live on

Dad you have gone & it hurts, but you will live on in our hearts & minds forever
You left us at 91 years young
I will miss you so much
Your beloved daughter Susan, Jérôme Nicolas Emilie & Alice
