It was such a shock to hear about Peter's sudden death. Peter will be very much missed by all his allotment friends. He was such an avid grower of vegetables and even fermented his own extra strong fertilizer from manure and water in an old water but. This we are sure helped him grow some super sized vegetables!
He always used to laugh at Ruth and I as we always found time to sit and have a break, picnic or cup of tea in between our digging and planting. But Peter would keep digging with out stopping and then walk back home for his lunch !
Thinking of you Sheila, Tom and Sarah at this sad time and sending all our love to you. Helen and Ruth and the allotment gang !xxx

Shocked & saddened to hear of Pete's passing. The East Malling Beer Festival & Christmas Eve won't be the same without you. Will raise a glass ( or 3) with the Viz when we next get the chance. Much love to Sheila, Tom & Sarah xx.

We first met Peter as a fresh faced 20 year old when Sheila brought him to meet the in-laws. I made sausage rolls and he made a good impression, because he's always been a member of our family from that moment!
And then when they were abroad on holiday before they were married, on a boat trip, the boatman got their names wrong - language barrier and all that - Freebird & Truscott. How we laughed and laughed about it, and that has been their pseudonym to us ever since! So many laughs together!! We'll miss those holidays and we'll raise a glass to you, Peter, in The Hunting field Arms. With our love.
