In loving memory of David Peter Watkins who sadly passed away on 1st March 2021.
David, known to most as Dave passed away just a few days after his 39th birthday. Dave touched many lives and this is demonstrated by how many people have been in touch since hearing of his passing to let us know how much he will be missed. Thank you for your kindness.
Although Dave passed much sooner than he wanted he was still proud of everything he had achieved in his life most notably becoming a father to Amy. As difficult as it may feel at the moment he would want his life to be celebrated so please use this page to share your photos and memories of Dave.

Since Dave became unwell 5 years ago he was treated and looked after by Harefield Hospital. We were extremely grateful to all the staff there 5 years ago for saving his life and giving him more precious years. He always received amazing care both as in and out patient right up to the end and we were all treated like family whenever we visited. For this reason we have chosen to create a just giving page accessible from here for anyone who wishes to donate in Dave's name to support the incredible work they do.

David was an exceptional person that I had the honour to look after in hospital. The entire team felt very strongly we had to do everything we could to protect him and were devastated when we could not do anymore. He always spoke of the love for his family and friends and thought of you all every day. He was strong and brave to the end. We will miss him very much.

My condolences to all his family, it is such a great loss to lose a young man such as Dave. As Dave's employer I can honestly say that he was well liked by all the staff, he had a great sense of humour and was probably the most level headed of us all! He will be greatly missed by us all at Thompson Elphick.

I like to thank you all for the kind words, memories, photos and donations sent. My memories of Dave of a cheeky young son, being proud of him growing up to graduate at University and to go on to marry Catherine.

I will always remember the fun we had going to Gillingham Football matches. When David became unwell, Harefield Hospital saved his life for him to go on and live for further 5 years. I am grateful to them for given this precious time to us which allowed Dave to be a Proud Father to Amy. Whenever we visited Harefield for his outpatient clinic appointments, that he would always want us to get a Full English Breakfast beforehand.

We will miss him greatly, a much loved son, never forgotten love Dad xxx

Our sincerest condolences to Dave's family at this difficult time.

Most of our memories of Reg are of attempting to play football in Ravelin Park at university. Reg was reliable, good humoured and always played with a smile on his face (not qualities associated with all participants!). There are less memories of the drinks that sometimes followed after, or nights at St Andrews, for obvious reasons!

Reminiscing about Reg it's striking that no one has anything but wholly positive memories of a lovely man who we were all proud to have known.

With deepest sympathy

Luton, Jon and Karl
