Whilst our visits to the UK were infrequent, I still felt close to Uncle David. He was that kind of person. When we did see him, his conversations were so bright and intelligent. They were warm, as if we'd only seen him a few weeks ago. The whole family can be proud of their dad/husband/grandad. I'm proud that he was my uncle and godfather. Lots of love to the whole family.

I worked with David at Kirklees, he was always kind and supportive of me when I was a student and throughout my time working with him. A lovely man who had a wealth of knowledge of Environmental Health and was always willing to share his experiences to help and support others and he had the best smile in Kirklees. Love and best wishes to all the family.

At a sad time like this it also good to remember all the good times we shared with David and Christine, with the Choir and also socially. David was the only person I knew who laughed until he cried when anyone told him a good joke and this is how we shall always remember him.
Love,
Susan and Graham

David was a brilliant person to have known, his talent shone out in the choir, afterglows and the many performances he gave with Rod. We feel privileged to have known him and whenever we hear a sea shanty we will think of Dave.
Our thoughts are with you Christine and family.
