In loving memory of Murray Hyslop who sadly passed away on 16th January 2021.

Murray Hyslop, 82, of Mansfield, passed away at Kings Mill Hospital on the 16th January, 2021. The beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather is survived by his wife, Sheila, 80yrs, his son Andy, 56yrs and daughter in law Debbie, 55yrs, his grandson Craig, 34yrs and his two great-grandsons, Oliver, 9yrs and Toby, 7yrs.

Murray was born on the 21st March,1938 in Penpont, Dumfriesshire and was the elder of twins. Together with his brother Kenneth he attended the Morton Academy where he developed his passion and skill for woodwork. He later went on to undertake a seven year apprenticeship in joinery, spending time working in Jersey before later moving to Mansfield, where he met his spouse, Sheila. Murray went on to became a site manager, a job which he continued until his retirement at the age of 64yrs. He enjoyed watching most sports including cricket and football and was a fan of his former local football team, Queen of the South. His real passion in life, however, was his family.

Latterly, due to the advancement of Parkinson’s disease, Murray resided at a local care home.

The graveside funeral service will be held at Mansfield Woodhouse Cemetery at 10am, Monday 8th March, 2021. All family, friends and former neighbours are welcome. Any charitable donations should be made to Parkinson’s UK.

To Dad, I was lucky to have such a fantastic Dad.
I miss you so much and am proud of you for trying so hard to beat the illness, which eventually took you from us. You will always be with me in my heart and never ever forgotten. Your loving son, Andy xxxxxxx
