Dear all.

Sadly Roy Fabri passed away in St Georges hospital on 30.01.21 following a 3 week battle with Covid 19. Our hearts are broken and we are all devastated by his loss.

There has been so much love for Roy sent to the family and he bought so much laughter, love and light into our lives. We are all finding it difficult to comprehend how life can go on without him. Thank you on behalf of all the family for all the love and support you are sending us.

This online obituary has been set up for Roy and has an area where you can pay your condolences and leave memories.

The funeral will take place on 05.03.21 at 1.45pm. Those that are attending the funeral have already been advised of the details. Unfortunately due to the Pandemic we are restricted on numbers attending.

For those that are unable to attend the Funeral there will be a live webcast available for you to be with us virtually. Details of the webcast will be sent out nearer the time.

In January 2022 myself and the family will be holding a memorial service as we are unable to have a wake currently.

If you wish to send flowers for the funeral these can be sent directly to Albert Parr (Beckenham branch). There is also an option to donate to Charity we have chosen NHS Charities together as it covers many different services and volunteers who work for the NHS.

There is no obligation but we are going to use Alexanders Florist for the funeral flowers - www.alexanders.florist.co.uk - 0208 650 8865.

Here is a little bit about Roy Fabri, He was born in Egypt in 1955 and is from a Mediterranean background including French and Maltese, he can speak some French, Italian and Spanish (but not fluently).

Roy's parents (now deceased) were called Angelique and Denny’s, Dennys is Roy’s middle name.

Roy and Diana had 3 children together the children are Donna 46, Sean 33 and Jack 29, he is a Grandfather to Ada (aged 1 yrs) , partner to Marion, Father In Law to Katie, he is the eldest brother of 4 siblings, Roger, Chantal and Richard. Roy is also a much loved uncle and cousin to a large extended family.

Roy was a surveyor by trade, he was semi retired for the last few years with a part time surveyor job and then he fully retired the week before he became unwell with COVID. Roy was hoping to retire by the sea.

Roy was funny, cheeky, always wanted to tell a joke, a huge teaser. Roy used to forget peoples names all the time which we teased him about , he was loving, kind hearted, caring, friendly, chatted to everyone and he was a good friend to many people.

He was clever, patient and helpful, especially with his DIY skills, he could fix everything.

Roy loved the quiz programme The Chase ( he liked to know the contestants' ages and then ponder on whether they look good for their age) , he loved Only Fools and Horses, Mrs Browns Boys, Western and War films, Dads Army, Gunsmoke and Sharp.

Rest in Peace Dad (Roy) We love you so much
Donna, Sean , Jack , Diana, Marion and family xxxxx

Roy, although we met at work, I thought of you more as a friend than a colleague. It was a pleasure to arrive at work to be greeted by you and to detect a hint of the lovely aftershaves you wore.

I'm grateful for the advice and support you gave me when I went through difficult times, and I will always appreciate the help you gave me when I moved into my flat.

Always cheerful, never complaining you never showed the slightest frustration no matter the situation. Instead, you were always cool, calm and collected and would often say "don't worry, there has to be a solution"; and then you'd find one :)

Thanks for being my hero where spiders were concerned even though you couldn't resist the opportunity to tease me with one when you caught it.

Always the kind-hearted family man, to me you were the ultimate gentleman. I miss you and wish you eternal peace.

Love always, K

Dear Roy, your cheeky way and positive look on life will be missed by everyone. I was always guessing whether you were joking or being serious! Your sense of humour would lift up all around you and the room would always be filled with laughter with you there. We will miss you but we will always remember the great times we had shared together and your kind and generous nature. Keep shining bright in the sky and never lose your smile and glint in your eye.

Love from Mark, Rute, Oceano & Maurice xxxx

Roy,
It’s hard to sum up the huge impact you had on so many in so few words. You won over all who met you with that cheeky grin, dry sense of humour and your little ways; we will miss you ambling out for your daily lunchtime walk, coming back with a variety of random items you didn’t have a use for and being a builders’ tea connoisseur (just telling you the kettle had boiled so you could make tea to your specifications!) I can imagine that even in this time of sadness, anyone would be challenged to think of you and not smile. Wishing you peace.
Aimée X

You are the most loveliest, kindest funniest person I know..we've only caught up again in the last 4 years while at auntie daisy s funeral, from then we built such a quick bond together with our families which resulted us going to Oropesa every year, we even spoke about buying our homes so we could eventually live there..I hope to carry out this dream Roy, with DonDons , Ricky, Eddie Rodger and of course Rosa and Peter. You will always be in my heart everyday I think of you and still can't believe your not here!! but I can always hear your voice in the back round saying ... 👀 To the left 👃to the right!!😂😂our little joke.. You were taken long before your time and though our friendship was brief, it was an honour and a pleasure getting to know you. Such a kind, loving and decent soul who touched the lives of so many. Farewell dearest Roy.

Dearest Roy!
We have realised that we walked with you during your lunch hour in Chislehurst maybe just a few weeks before you became ill... reading your messages we feel honoured that you rushed towards us and said hello knowing both our names! Although we couldn’t hug and we were wearing masks your warmth and your soul hug transcended all the restrictions! A very special gentleman that we are blessed to have known! xxx

Lovely Roy was our dear friend and we worked with him for many years at Hyde Housing. Always smiling, never grumpy, professional, knowledgeable and highly respected by all. He had a great sense of humour, endless funny stories and was the sweetest person - a real gentleman. Roy loved a Screwfix Catalogue, was our "oracle" on everything DIY and property related and always willing to help us. We loved him lots and will miss him greatly. Remembering with great fondest what great neighbours you all were in Upper Elmer's End Road. Roy was a kind and funny man. He spent a lots of time chatting to my Dad George over the years. We all had fun evenings playing Scrabble and Trivia Persuit! Such sad news Roy was taken too young. Love from Margaret, Steve, Jane & Bing xxx
