I always enjoyed time spent with Mike, he was always kind and a great help with his advice on motorbike riding, training others and his wise council. Sadly missed.

We all used to work for Mike at Nationwide many years ago as a bunch of young, naïve analysts. He was fondly known to us at the time as ‘old school’ being a generation or 2 ahead of us, but the circle has turned and we’re all now edging towards retirement ourselves. They were great days with lots of laughs and Mike will be missed by all of us. We all recall a time when Joe Strummer died and Mike brought his stereo in and played the Clash in the office – it was class! Very sad to hear of his passing, he was a great boss and a lovely man. Our deepest sympathy to his friends and family.

Stu, Ian, Sam and Alastair.
