John passed away at the Royal Derby Hospital on the morning of 1st January 2021, aged 67 years, with his devoted wife, Laura, at his side. A much loved dad to Ian and Alan, doting grandad to Alex, Chloe and Amelia, treasured son of Gladys and the late Jack, brother to Paul and the late David, and cherished friend to many.

Due to the covid-19 restrictions, only thirty mourners will be allowed into the Crematorium Chapel. These mourners will be contacted directly by the family. Anyone else wishing to pay their respects may line the Crematorium driveway or say their farewells to John as he leaves home for the last time.

The funeral cortège and motorcycle cavalcade will be leaving at 10.00 am from Dalebrook Road.

Please adhere to social distancing and keep one another safe.

We have so many happy memories of travelling with you both, will always remember John having his Health and Safety hat on when looking at dodgy wiring and building construction! Such a lovely man, taken too soon. Our thoughts are with you Laura. Alan & Jo xx

A very sad loss, thinking of you all today. I always remember John's willingness to help younger engineers and inspiring others to do the same. I have fond memories of hearing John's stories of your global travels at the Ratcliffe canteen lunch table.

Such a sad loss, John was true gentleman, always wearing a warm smile and ever willing to help, highly respected and much loved. From myself, the Exec Team and the wider Ratcliffe site, our thoughts and prayers are with Laura and the family at this time.
