In loving memory of Dennis William A'Bear who sadly passed away on 23rd December 2020. Dennis was a loving husband to June and a loving and caring father to Alison, Chris and Vanessa.

His passions were all things sport related, especially Brentford Football Club and the Invicta Dynamos Ice Hockey Team. He was also an avid traveller, which has clearly rubbed off on the kids, who also like to travel extensively around the world whenever possible.

He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

Rather than sending flowers, it would be greatly appreciated, if you could make a donation to one of the following charities instead:

1) Brentford FC Community Sports Trust:

2) Invicta Dynamos Sponsored Local Charity:

Please tell me how I can get in touch with Dennis's family. He and I were great friends in the 1940's & 50's. he and I went on holiday to Venice together in 1956, the year before Wendy and I got married. He was a great friend. I think we lost touch because I was under the impression that the family had emigrated to Canada in the 1950's

I have worked for Dennis for a number of years and have come to know him and his daughter Vanessa really well.My husband Bill has worked for Dennis and he agrees with me as to what a lovely person he was. I am going to miss our Thursday chats Dennis where we would put the world to rights at one point I think we even got as far as electing me for Prime Minister!. Dennis was well travelled and if I mentioned going on a journey he would tell me exactly how to get there!. Dennis you were a lovely kind man and both Bill and I were very fond of you. It is with great sadness we say goodbye to you. Our thoughts are with Vanessa and the rest of the family at this sad time. Rest in Peace Dennis you will be sadly missed. All our love to you all Jan & Bill

Dennis was a first cousin to my brother Michael and myself, and my earliest recollection is of his marriage to June when I was a boy aged nine. It was my first experience of a wedding reception, and we danced the hokey cokey which was something new to me and great fun.
Our paths seldom crossed during our working lives, but we stayed in touch and I know Den pursued a responsible and rewarding career in the oil industry, and that he led a full and very active life.
In later years after retirement Dennis visited us twice on the Isle of Wight, once when Geoff and Jean visited the UK in 2013 and not long afterwards when he returned with Vanessa and introduced us to the sport of Ice Hockey at the arena in Ryde. It was clearly a sport they had both strongly supported for years and come to relish. We enjoyed the action, but not so much the noise!
I have come to learn over the years the importance and value of sharing time with family, and so mourn the loss of Dennis as a close relative. May he and June now rest in peace together.
