Ronald John Collins (Passed away 17 Dec 2020)

In loving memory of Ronald Collins, known as Ron, who sadly passed away on 17th December 2020 at the age of 89.

Ron was born to John and Theresa in Stepney, London in 1931. He had a younger brother John. After leaving school, Ron completed a 7 year printing apprenticeship. It was during this time as a printer that Ron met the person that would eventually become the love of his life, June Jackson.

In March 1957, he married June and together they raised 4 children, Lynn, Lee, Julie and Jane.

Ron continued working in printing until he was made redundant in 1999. Following this, Ron then worked at the golf course in Upchurch and Tesco in Rainham, until he retired.

Ron enjoyed his family holidays, a keen golfer and would often be seen walking the dog. He had a great sense of humour and a lovely smile, often referred to as a gentleman by those that knew him best.

Ron was diagnosed with Alzheimer's at the age of 80, and for the last 3 years had been cared for at Amherst Court care home.

He lived a full and vibrant life, keeping his charm even in the later stages of his Alzheimer’s.

Ron is survived by his wife June, his 4 children 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
