Say not in grief that David is gone but give thanks that he was ours. To live in the hearts he leaves behind is not to die, for love is immortality. Like the sun, only when you set in the west can you rise in the east.

The ACU Team Airedale General Hospital wrote

The whole of the Ambulatory Care Unit team of ACPs, nurses, healthcare support workers, housekeeping and reception staff would like to offer their most sincere condolensces to David's family. We have all had the privilege of looking after David on the unit and were all deeply saddened to learn of his passing. He spoke with great fondness of all his family and despite his own health concerns, he was always positive and optimistic about the future.
A good listener, David remembered everyone's names, a little bit about their backgrounds and always asked how we were all doing.

We have had a chance to reflect on David and all that he has taught us over the years, his cheeky sense of humour and of course, his kindness. The team were asked to choose one word that they would use to describe David and here are some of them:
Brave.
Hilarious.
Legend.
Generous.
Kind.
Supportive.
Humourous.
Cheeky.
Gentleman.
Considerate.
Astute.

May David rest in peace and although this is a difficult and distressing time, may his family take comfort from the warm and happy memories they have made with him through the years.

Goodnight David and thank you for everything.

Love from the whole of the ACU team at Airedale General Hospital.
