In loving memory of Rob Latham who sadly passed away at home on 11th October 2020.

Rob seized every moment of every day following his diagnosis of Stage 4 bowel cancer in 2015. Carrying on with his passion for photography, he also took up clay pigeon shooting, learnt a new poem off by heart each month, built a model train set, agreed to ballroom dancing lessons with Fiona (which he even admitted that he enjoyed) and learnt to ride a motorbike. For his 50th birthday he became the proud owner (and rider) of a Ducati Monster 767 bike which he adored.

Family was an important part of life for Rob and his love for Fiona, Siân, Ellen and Megan shone through right to the end as he fought so hard not to leave us. He was so proud of all his girls and leaves a wonderful legacy behind in them.

We have chosen the 2 named charities because The Rowan's Hospice gave Rob psychological and palliative care assistance in the latter stages of the disease which helped him immensely. Bowel Cancer UK was important to include for the girls - the more research that can be done, the fewer families that will have to suffer this huge loss and fewer patients having to undergo extensive, gruelling treatments.

All in all Rob subjected himself to the following treatments, all so that he could stay with us for as long as possible:
major bowel surgery
Stoma reversal
liver resection x 3
lung resection x 1 on each side
multiple stents fitted around his liver
ablation therapy to lung nodes
more than 45 rounds of chemotherapy!

Rob was a hero to us and we will always be amazed at his strength and resolve. If you are able to, please support Rob's causes and help us give support, care and hope to other families.

Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made in Rob's memory to either The Rowans Hospice or Bowel Cancer UK via the links on this page, or by cheque made payable to the charity c/o Lee Fletcher Funeral Services, 95 High Street, Cosham, Portsmouth, Hants, PO6 3AZ.

My deepest sympathies to you all. The loss of Rob is felt by many and our day to day working life will never be the same without Rob’s support and sound advice (even if it wasn’t always something you wanted to hear)! Rob will be truly missed.

As a team at Fawley we are richer for Rob's leadership, guidance and counsel. Rob made time for everyone despite his illness and job demands and showed inspirational fortitude. Sorely missed.

Fiona, Sian, Ellen and Megan
I will always remember Rob's passion to fully understand the logic and science of any challenge in front of him. His feedback to ideas that did not meet his expectations was often curt and hilarious in equal measures! He pushed the teams he worked with to get stronger everyday, while quietly taking the time to coach and support them behind the scenes.
Even more remarkable though was the love and pride he showed when he talked of his family.....Life has been so cruel to split your perfect family, all our thoughts and best wishes are with you all.
With our deepest sympathy,
The McGuffins - John, Claire, Ben and Kerr

Rob was smart, generous with his time and I always appreciated his logical, no nonsense approach.
I remember how during our chats, over the years, how they nearly always ended up talking about his 4 girls. My thoughts are with you at this time.
Take care now and I am sure you will do Rob proud going forward.

What a man. I never saw Rob be downbeat about anything - even when his football team were losing (frequently!). Such a kind and generous person and a huge loss far too early in life. He will be missed by many.
