Grandad, there are no words that can describe how much you meant to us and how much you'll be missed by everyone, myself, Bryony-Rose & Kevin.
You gave so much without even realising. Through childhood you gave me a safe place to be, gave me so many memories and happy thoughts. From picking our breakfast mushrooms to working on the caravan site, eating those sneaky sad cakes to caring for all the animals.
Tomorrow we'll say good bye for now until we meet again...love you always

Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us everyday. Unseen, unheard but always near, still loved, still missed & held so dear.

May these few words bring comfort to Brenda, Dale, Stewart & Jaci at this very sad time.

I have so many happy memories of Derek not just with working with him, but of the laughs we’ve had over the years at Derek but also of him as

  • Didn’t get chance to edit! Apologies- should read but of the laughs we’ve had over the years at many family celebrations. Derek will be sadly missed by myself & many more. I have to say he will be probably laughing right now saying Sue Bowden has messed up again! X

Seems crazy to be writing this as it was only a month or so ago we were discussing about building an outhouse to lookout from your beautiful view at home.
Will never forget the countless trips around Gargrave on Sherry.
Much love always. Great-Grandad & Grandad.

My late husband and I first met Derek and Brenda eleven years ago in Madeira. Since then we, and lately I have spent many joyful hours in their company.
Derek was such a lovely man, always ready to listen to others, sometimes replying with his booming voice and memorable laugh, filling every room. I will certainly miss Derek.
Sending love to Brenda and all the family.
